Jerzy AT BAR

Jerzy Goliszewski’s primary concern and medium of choice is space, be it of a physical, architectural, structural, or mental nature. His works are constructed similarly to mathematical problems or rebuses: he uses certain concepts and arranges them in various combinations. Mathematics is an abstract discipline just like his work. He uses the aesthetics of the place, but only in a limited way, he has to consider a set of elements such as walls, doors, furniture.. and he arranges them into the right combinations. Sometimes it is very formal, at other times he plays with the context and reverses the meaning. His works are designed and sculpted in an industrial manner albeit mostly by hand or by small workshops.
