 THE RESIDENCY
Hamed’s documentary tells the story of three Syrian refugees in Berlin that he follows for a few weeks in June 2017. These young men have fled Syria and found their way to Germany. He documents how a simple weekend trip to Paris, 20 euros all-inclusive, was purchased off an individual that did not agree to be filmed. Arriving in Paris, instead of witnessing the splendor of the Eiffel Tower, the young men find themselves locked inside an out-of-town conference center with no water or food. They are then asked to wave Iranian flags at what turned out to be a rally. Upon returning to their hotel that evening they found no rooms for them.
